Microorganism, also known as germ or pathogen, is an organism that is microscopic in size which include bacteria, fungi, and viruses. Examples of microorganisms of concern within healthcare are as follows:

Bacteria: MRSA, Salmonella, Listeria
Fungi: Candida, Aspergillus
Virus:HIV, HBV, HCV, Influenza A, SARS, Adeno
